I started my MLIS (Masters in Library and Information Science) at Pratt Institute, School of Information in the fall of 2024. This wasn’t so much a “pivot” from my Ph.D. at UC San Diego, where I am ABD (all but dissertation), but a choice to pursue an applied degree and the expected certificate to work in most institutional libraries and archives, or a related information profession.

The training an MLIS can vary, but I want to share the list of the courses I’ve taken over the past 2 years in the hopes that it can bring some clarity to how I’ve been spending my time and the professional training I’ve worked to achieve.
